About the communities
- Ejigbo: Plays host to poor rural communities that subsists on government grants and other aids due to incessant poverty
- Idoluwo-Ile: A riverine community situated in Otto-Awori Local council development area accessible via boat. The community plays host to about 10,000 indigenes and mostly thrives from fishing and mat production. The community has only 1 primary school which has been in existence since 1953 but still remains under developed – St Mary’s Primary School. For access to other options, the children have to travel daily on water to other communities which in its own holds a degree of risk.
- Ijora-Badia : An urban settlement in Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area and has existed as a slum for over 50 years. The inhabitants live on both sides of the rail tracks which run within the heart of the community. Many inhabitants live in sheds built with stilts and corrugated iron sheets, while small-scale business establishments and religious centres are built with concrete.
