Projects
(1) Stay-In-Schoolng(SIS)
Is a civil society movement that aims to challenge the status quo of the increasing number of Out Of School Children in Nigeria and strives to provide opportunities for orphans and primary school drop-outs to return to, and or remain in school and actually complete their primary education. Our aim is to reduce the attrition rate by using life examples to stimulate and encourage them to remain in school and obtain an educational qualification.
StayInSchoolng is driven by the conviction that education for all is achievable and exclusion from education in a knowledge-based economy will translate into growing poverty and inequality
Our volunteer team is made up of teachers, doctors, lawyers, education consultants, child rights campaigners amongst several professions together, we join the fight to provide Education for All
Our Objectives include :
–To reduce the number of kids roaming the streets during school hours
–Enhancing their schooling experience by making sure that their basic educational needs are met within the period of their studies
– Improve positive child development through education.
–And lastly but most importantly, ensuring that they actually StayInSchool
(2) FunDayOut with StayInSchoolng(FDO)
FunDayOut is an annual Children’s day event that seeks to celebrate with children who would otherwise not have an opportunity to celebrate the day in gay dresses. It is a fun day because several items lined up for the kids will highlight the word Fun and it is a day out of their regular schedules and daily activities.
The 1st edition of FunDayOut held on May 25th 2013 in Guzape village Asokoro extension Abuja, a displaced village that plays host to 25 StayinSchoolng beneficiaries. About 260 children were hosted at the party which also rewarded highfliers already enrolled in the project.
The annual event will rotate across villages and rural communities in which StayInSchoolng operates.
